01What Samaa does

Samaa listens to audio you provide — your own recitation, or a recording played nearby — and identifies the matching Quran surah and ayah. It also lets you read along with translation and transliteration, listen to a library of reciters, bookmark verses, and practice Tajweed. Recognition results are provided for guidance and study; while we aim for high accuracy, Samaa can make mistakes and should not be treated as a religious authority.

02Accounts

• You need an account to use Samaa's core features, including verse identification. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
• You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes your account, bookmarks, and recitation history. See our Privacy Policy for details.

03Subscriptions and billing

• Samaa offers a free tier with daily usage limits, and a Premium subscription (monthly or yearly) that removes those limits and unlocks offline downloads and faster recognition.
• Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
• Introductory free trials, where offered, convert to a paid subscription automatically unless cancelled before the trial ends.
• Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policies — we don't process payments or refunds directly.

04Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes anyone else's rights.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the app's recognition models, source code, or Quranic text/audio corpus for redistribution.
• Interfere with the app's operation, circumvent usage limits, or access accounts other than your own.
• Upload or submit audio that is abusive, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful through the identification or Tajweed features.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

05Content and intellectual property

Quranic text, translations, transliterations, and recitation audio are sourced from public and licensed providers and remain the property of their respective rights holders; Samaa's role is to help you find and study them. The Samaa app itself — its design, code, and recognition technology — is our property or that of our licensors, and is protected by copyright and other laws. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of that technology to you.

06Disclaimers

Samaa is provided "as is." Verse identification depends on audio quality, connectivity, and third-party speech-recognition services, and results are not guaranteed to be accurate or available at all times. We disclaim all warranties to the extent permitted by law, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

07Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose.

08Changes to the app or these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; if we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Samaa after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. We may also modify or discontinue features of the app at any time.

09Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in your country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where superseded by Apple's own terms for App Store transactions.
