Delete Your Account

Last updated August 5, 2026

You can delete your Samaa account and all of its data at any time. Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no recovery period and no way for us to restore an account once it has been removed.

01Deleting from within the app

This is the fastest route and requires no waiting.

  1. Open Samaa and go to the Settings tab.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  3. Confirm, then type your account's email address to verify it is you.

Your account and data are erased as soon as you confirm.

02If you no longer have the app

Email hello@samaaapp.com from the email address associated with your account, asking us to delete it. We verify the request comes from that address and complete the deletion within 30 days, usually much sooner.

03What is deleted

Deleting your account removes all of the following permanently:

Nothing is retained in a recoverable form. We keep no backup copy of your account after deletion, beyond anything we are required to retain by law.

Settings held only on your device — your chosen reciter, app language and downloaded audio — are not stored on our servers and are removed when you uninstall the app.

04Your subscription is separate

Deleting your Samaa account does not cancel your subscription. Premium subscriptions are billed by Google Play or the App Store, not by us, so they continue charging until you cancel them there.

Cancel before deleting your account:

Audio recorded for verse recognition is processed to produce a transcript and is not stored against your account, so there is nothing separate to delete. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
