Delete Your Account

01Deleting from within the app

This is the fastest route and requires no waiting.

1. Open Samaa and go to the Settings tab.
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
3. Confirm, then type your account's email address to verify it is you.

Your account and data are erased as soon as you confirm.

02If you no longer have the app

Email hello@samaaapp.com from the email address associated with your account, asking us to delete it. We verify the request comes from that address and complete the deletion within 30 days, usually much sooner.

03What is deleted

Deleting your account removes all of the following permanently:

• Your account and sign-in details — email address, and the link to Google or Apple if you used one of those to sign in.
• Your profile — display name, time zone and daily reading goal.
• Your recitation history and bookmarks — every verse you have identified or saved.
• Your progress — daily activity, current and longest streaks, verse progress and any khatma reading plans.
• Your subscription record — the entitlement we hold that grants Premium access.
• Your usage counters — the daily totals used to apply free-tier limits.

Nothing is retained in a recoverable form. We keep no backup copy of your account after deletion, beyond anything we are required to retain by law.

Settings held only on your device — your chosen reciter, app language and downloaded audio — are not stored on our servers and are removed when you uninstall the app.

04Your subscription is separate

Cancel before deleting your account:

• Android: Google Play app → profile icon → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Samaa → Cancel.
• iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Samaa → Cancel.

Audio recorded for verse recognition is processed to produce a transcript and is not stored against your account, so there is nothing separate to delete. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
